I really like it. You are right about sweet, gentle Lew Ayres, but I think that he did pretty well. Especially, as you said, at the ending. The main thing I loved about this movie may be a little shallow, but my God the mens' looks and dress are just smashing! The trenchcoats, the fedoras tipped to the side -- how I wish men would dress like that still, instead of jeans all the time.
